Dear friends,

Starting on Sunday, September 9, 2018, things will look a little different for our church on Sunday mornings.  If you didn’t see the recent letter from the elders that explains some of the heart behind the upcoming changes to our rhythms, you can read that here.  As we anticipate our new fall schedule, here is a picture of what you can expect Sunday mornings to look like:

This fall, church will begin at 9:00 am with the new Sunday School hour.  If you arrive early, you will find the Foundations Prayer group meeting to pray (8:30 am), or you might see other people around the building preparing for the morning.  Parents can drop off their children in the upstairs Sunday School classes (see locations below) or in The Cove nursery* at 8:50 am, before heading to the adult Sunday School classes in the parsonage or fellowship hall, joining with the rest of the adults (college students, young adults, seasoned adults and everything in between) who aren’t dropping off children first.  The two adult classes this fall will include a deeper study of Ezra (following the sermon series) and “Getting to the Heart of Parenting” (a topical study of parenting as followers of Jesus).  Both of these adult classes will run from 9:05-10:05.  If you have children participating in the children’s ministries, please pick them up right after class ends (so teachers can join us for the service too) then head to the sanctuary to prepare for worship.  If you are unable to attend the Sunday School hour, you are welcome to join us in the sanctuary any time after 10:10 am on Sundays, and children through age 3 can be dropped off in the nursery after 10:20 am, before we start the worship service right at 10:30.

*Nursery care will be provided for children ages 3 months to 3 years during both the Sunday School hour and during the worship service.  Drop off for children who will need nursery care during Sunday School begins at 8:50 am, or at 10:20 am for care during the worship service. Check in with the nursery staff if your child will remain in the nursery through both the Sunday School hour and the Worship Service.

Another change to Sunday mornings this fall is that prior to the sermon beginning each week, children in Preschool-3rd grade will be welcomed to the front sanctuary door to head upstairs with their leaders for children’s church.  When the service concludes, please pickup your children from children’s church or the nursery before joining us for a time of fellowship together.

We continue to be excited about how God will use this new schedule to bring us together in serving Him for the glory of Christ and the good of the city.  As always, if you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@eastgloucester.org.  We look forward to worshiping our Lord together this fall!
