Join us for Coastal Cleanup 2023 on October 14

Due to expected impacts and hazards forecasted as Hurricane Lee passes by offshore on September 16 we have rescheduled our Coastal Cleanup for October 14. We hope you’ll be able to join us then!

This year’s Coastal Cleanup is happening on Saturday, October 14! The Coastal Cleanup event began back in 2016 as a way of welcoming our church and our neighbors into a simple way of caring for our city. We partner with CoastSweep, Gloucester’s DPW, and other organizations to spend a few hours cleaning up some of the beaches and shoreline spaces here in Gloucester. We know this only puts a small dent into the bigger fight to protect our shoreline, but it’s a great way to introduce us to a thankful approach to caring for creation as well as to help the ongoing and sustainable efforts of organizations like Coastsweep and Ocean Conservancy -- perhaps even helping them to enact policies to seek better ways to protect the long term health of the planet.

9:00 am until we’re done
(or until you have to leave!)
Meet on the Front Lawn of the Church

We'll provide gloves and trashbags (and you provide the volunteer power) as we collect marine debris from beaches, public landings, and other waterfront areas across the city. We will have some snacks and coffee available. See you in October for this great way to love and care for our city together!

Here’s our crew from 2022, just before we headed out to tackle the beaches of our beloved city!
