SUNRISE SERVICE
“CALL TO WORSHIP” VIDEO

(March 2020) As the pandemic got underway here in Massachusetts in the spring of 2020, churches all over the state had to cancel their in-person worship services, including our celebration of Easter Sunday. Our tradition here at Community Church is to hold a Sunrise Service, together with the Gloucester Assembly of God church, on the back shore as the sun breaks the horizon. This reminds us that Jesus, the light of the world, rose again from the grave and offers new life to any who would receive it in His name. With this tradition unavailable to us, the worship team here at Community Church shot this video in the weeks leading up to the cancellation of our Easter services. It was first posted on Easter Sunday morning, and it shows the Worship Team at the very location of our traditional Sunrise Service, allowing our scattered church family to come together — even if only online — to remember that the Son has risen indeed!
