Going Deeper

You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

1. Waiting on the LORD. Think of a season in your life where you felt like you exhausted all options and were left with simply having to wait on the LORD. What posture of waiting did you take/do you tend to take — exasperated, impatient, expectant? In your past has God been faithful? How do you foster a posture of waiting expectantly?

2. With unshakeable hope. What is your hope? Do you feel prepared to share with an unbeliever the basis of your hope? If not, do you feel prepared to remind yourself of the basis of your hope? Do you feel a lack of knowledge or understanding about what our hope actually means in the hard places like: sickness, disease, ever changing circumstances, social pressure etc? How could you grow as a life-long learner of the hope we have? Is there a discipleship relationship that would help you grow (mentor, spiritual friend, small group, ministry team)?

3. As we face fear. Over and over again during this series we have talked about the reality of fear and its role in our moment. What fears are you facing in this season? Perhaps they have nothing to do with the Coronavirus or social injustice, or social upheaval, or the government. Perhaps they are life-long concerns. Take a moment with a trusted fellow believer and actually spend time in prayer together over this fear. Hear from one another. Share your burdens. Give them to the LORD together. Consider closing your prayer together with the final lines of Psalm 27:13-14.

   I will remain confident of this:
       I will see the goodness of the Lord
       in the land of the living.
   Wait for the Lord;
       be strong and take heart
       and wait for the Lord.

   May you face fear with an unshakeable hope even as you wait.

Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.

Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.

Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!
