WORSHIP ONLINE

Sunday, April 19, 2020

children’s Sunday School

Parents, as you are now the ‘Sunday School Teachers’ for your kids, we have prepared this tool to help you guide your kids into the rest of the service. We encourage you to watch alongside of your kids and participate together.

Call To Worship

Choose someone from your group to read the call to worship, or read it out loud yourself. If you’re journaling, choose part of this verse and add it to your journal. Highlight words or phrases that draw you towards God in worship.

Praise the Lord, O my soul.
I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live...
He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
he remains faithful forever.
— Psalms 146:1-2, 6

You can either click on the following videos below one at a time, or you can click here for a single YouTube playlist that will take you through the rest of the announcements, the worship in song, and the sermon.

Welcome & Announcements

Worship in Song

Going Deeper

You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

  1. How do you feel about having a relationship with God that is full of Hope even when everything around us feels like it’s falling apart?

  2. Stephanie summarized the command to the people as to “pray and live their lives with God” knowing that God’s ultimate plans are sure, even if the good we seek may not be for us, but for the next generation. What does it look like to “keep living” in the midst of our current moment?

  3. How do you remember that God has a plan in this world? What/who helps you remember this? What does His plan have to say in our world today?

Community Updates

Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Submit a prayer request to either our prayer/leadership teams or to be shared with the whole church. Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another.

Prayer

Take this opportunity to lift up your voices to God. We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall (see the button below). This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above. Pray specifically for our church family:

  • thank Jesus that He is sovereign over all creation

  • spend some time praying that we would grow in relationship with God, trusting in His plan.

  • continue to pray for God’s mercy over our world; an end to the pandemic, strength for those who are suffering, comfort for those who mourn, and that somehow God would use even this to turn people’s hearts back towards life with Him.

If you need some guidance in prayer, use the A.C.T.S. prayer guide linked below as framework for helping you pray if you’d like.

Benediction

Choose someone to read the passage of Scripture below out loud, or have someone from your family or Zoom group read it out loud as a benediction over our church family.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord... my word will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands...
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
for an everlasting sign,
that will endure forever.

Tithes & Offerings

As you conclude in worship, take time to login to either the link below, tike time to mail a check, or reach out to your bank. Remember that our tithes and offerings are a continued act of worship and are a physical act of entrusting all of our lives to Jesus. Our Lenten Giving to Amirah can also be done through this same link (please remember that we would encourage you that our Lenten Giving is only above and beyond our regular tithes and offerings)
