CALL TO WORSHIP
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
— Hebrews 12:1-2

GOING DEEPER
The following questions invite you to interact with the sermon in a more personal way. If you’re worshipping with a group, share your answers and pray together for one another. If you’re not with a group, use a journal to reflect on these questions as we seek to apply the truth of the Bible to our actual lives. You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.
Do you see yourself in any of the characters in the allegory that Pastor Tim opened the sermon with? Which are you most like: Fearful? Scoffer? Open-Minded? Think of an example where this has played out in your life and share it with those with you or write about it in your journal.
Are you someone who makes commitments and grows closer (to friends, to family, to employers, to organizations) by making an intentional effort? Or are you someone who is happy to participate in these relationships — but in a way that’s on your own terms (happy to help out, to show up, but avoiding responsibility or real investment)? Can you think of a relationship that could grow closer by making a clear decision to commit more of yourself to it? Prayerfully invite the Lord to show you how you might be more present if you made a deeper commitment to that relationship.
Look back over these last few months of coping with the coronavirus and the need for social distancing. What decisions have you made to grow closer to Jesus through this time? Have you been letting things slide through these months as all our lives have been turned upside down? Or have you been living out your commitment to Jesus and enjoying His presence? Spend some time praying that you would sense God’s invitation to spend time with Him, and that you’d begin to see the next step you can take to grow closer to Jesus.
GIVING
Giving is an act of worship that acknowledges that God is the giver of all we have, and that we are stewards of His resources. We offer our tithes as a concrete act of entrusting all of our lives to Jesus. There are three ways you can give:
in-person
If you’re joining us in person on a Sunday morning, you can give your gift in the plates at the back of the sanctuary.
ONLINE
You can use our online giving platform by clicking the button below to make a one-time gift or to set up a recurring gift. There is a small fee for making an online transaction.
YOUR BANK
You can contact your bank and set up an automatic bill pay, which is free in most cases. Many use this option for their regular monthly tithe.
Regardless of you how give, we see giving as one way we can reflect the heart and character of our God, who “so loved the world that He gave…” everything for us (John 3:16).
PRAYER
Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.
Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.
Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!
