CALL TO WORSHIP

12 “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the LORD…"

— Jeremiah 29:12-14

WORSHIP SERVICE

GOING DEEPER

The following questions invite you to interact with the sermon in a more personal way. If you’re worshipping with a group, share your answers and pray together for one another. If you’re not with a group, use a journal to reflect on these questions as we seek to apply the truth of the Bible to our actual lives. You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

  1. Do you need to take this first step of the Journey? Do you need to make the intentional decision to explore who Jesus is for yourself? Here are some options for how to go forward in your journey:

    • tell a trusted friend here at the church that you need to explore who Jesus is; see if they’ll come along with you and be a resource and a listening ear.

    • reach out to us to join a small group Bible study; gathering with other believers — each at their own stages of the journey — is a great way to learn and experience more of who Jesus is.

    • Fill out a connection card (even if you’ve been coming to church for months or years) and let us know that you want to start exploring who Jesus is for yourself. Someone from the Leadership Team would be so happy to reach out to you and figure out what a good next step would be for you.

  2. What does it look like for Community Church to be a place that “Welcomes Explorers?” In what ways can you be a part of creating a welcoming, safe, and meaningful place where people can explore who Jesus is?

    • Consider your role on Sunday mornings. Are you actively greeting people you haven’t met before? Are you looking for new attenders? And when you do meet some, are you asking good questions about their spiritual journey (and are you actually listening to their answers)?

    • Join us for the Coastal Cleanup! Not only can we actively care for God’s creation by cleaning up our coastline, but we communicate to the city that Jesus matters in practical ways. Hopefully we can connect “church” with “love and service” in the eyes of our neighbors and friends. That’s one less barrier on the way to exploring who Jesus is.

    • Reach out to Pastor Tim and let him know you’re interested in this whole Tim Keller “Reason for God” idea (or something like it), and be part of the team that is going to think this through to see if it would be a good fit — something we could offer in our city.

GIVING

Giving is an act of worship that acknowledges that God is the giver of all we have, and that we are stewards of His resources. We offer our tithes as a concrete act of entrusting all of our lives to Jesus. There are three ways you can give:

LIVE

If you’re joining us in person on a Sunday morning, you can give your gift in the plates at the back of the sanctuary.

ONLINE

You can use our online giving platform by clicking the button below to make a one-time gift or to set up a recurring gift. There is a small fee for making an online transaction.

GIVE NOW

YOUR BANK

You can contact your bank and set up an automatic bill pay, which is free in most cases. Many use this option for their regular monthly tithe.

Regardless of you how give, we see giving as one way we can reflect the heart and character of our God, who “so loved the world that He gave…” everything for us (John 3:16).

PRAYER

Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.

Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.

Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!
