CALL TO WORSHIP

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”

— Jesus, to the church in Laodicea
(Revelation 3:20)

WORSHIP SERVICE

GOING DEEPER

The following questions invite you to interact with the sermon in a more personal way. If you’re worshipping with a group, share your answers and pray together for one another. If you’re not with a group, use a journal to reflect on these questions as we seek to apply the truth of the Bible to our actual lives. You don’t have to answer all of these questions. Look them over, and use one or two that might be helpful as you respond to God’s Word.

(1) Do you need to take this next step of the Journey? Do you need to make the intentional decision receive new life in Jesus? Here is the prayer that Pastor Tim shared.

God of Creation, I think I get it.
Or at least, I get it enough to know that it’s time for me to make this decision.

I confess that I’ve rejected You, I’ve tried to do life without You,
And that leads nowhere.
Have mercy on me, O God, and forgive me, in Jesus’ name.

I accept what Jesus has done on the cross,
and I realize now that it was for me.
I grieve that it was necessary,
But I delight that His death and resurrection
have opened a way back to knowing You.

I turn away from where I was going in life,
And I turn towards You,
I choose to receive new life with You, God.

Thank You for rescuing me…
from my sin, my brokenness, from myself.
Thank You for loving me…
and inviting me into new life with You.

I can’t wait to see what this new life will be like.
All this is because of Jesus,
So it’s in His name I pray,
Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, we want to celebrate with you and give you a place to continue to ask questions and grow. So let us know that you made the decision to receive new life in Jesus! Fill out the response card here!

(2) Consider joining us for the Baptism seminars that will be starting on Wednesday nights here at the church as a hybrid (in-person and remote) small group. We hope you’ll join us if:

  • you just made the decision to receive new life in Jesus!

  • you have been a Christian for some time, but have not been baptized and would like to explore that step.

  • you were baptized earlier in your life, but would like to explore more of what your baptism meant.

  • you’ve already been baptized, but would like to remember when you committed your life to Jesus and recommit yourself to Him in a tangible way (we generally don’t re-baptize, but we would welcome the chance to facilitate a significant experience for you!)

If you’d like to join us, fill out the response card here and let us know! We’ll make sure you get the information you need to be able to participate.

GIVING

Giving is an act of worship that acknowledges that God is the giver of all we have, and that we are stewards of His resources. We offer our tithes as a concrete act of entrusting all of our lives to Jesus. There are three ways you can give:

LIVE

If you’re joining us in person on a Sunday morning, you can give your gift in the plates at the back of the sanctuary.

ONLINE

You can use our online giving platform by clicking the button below to make a one-time gift or to set up a recurring gift. There is a small fee for making an online transaction.

GIVE NOW

YOUR BANK

You can contact your bank and set up an automatic bill pay, which is free in most cases. Many use this option for their regular monthly tithe.

Regardless of you how give, we see giving as one way we can reflect the heart and character of our God, who “so loved the world that He gave…” everything for us (John 3:16).

PRAYER

Submit a Prayer Request: Share with one another the needs, challenges, and joys that you, your family, your neighbors, and your workplaces are going through during this time. Prayer requests can be shared with either our whole church, or just the prayer leadership teams.

Spend Some Time in Prayer: We have collected some prayer requests that have been submitted to us and we have posted them on our community prayer wall. This morning, we invite you to pray for those needs posted there, and we also invite you pray over what was shared or discovered in the Going Deeper questions above.

Share a Photo or Video: Here you have an opportunity to post a video, photo, or selfie from different groups and families to share with one another. Take a selfie with Worship Online in the background! Hold up signs! Express your gratitude and celebrate being a part of Community Church!
